Low Temperature Service Pipe

图片
ASTM   A333 specification describes Low temperature service pipe applied up to minus 150 degrees Fahrenheit. These pipe are always provided in normalized condition with Charpy Impact V-Notch Test as per the temperature range requirements to assure compatibility with the applicable environments. Low temperature pipe also known as LTCS pipe abbreviated as LOW TEMPERATURE CARBON   STEEL   pipe. Since heavier wall thickness has an adverse effect on the low temperature impact properties, the size availability is limited in this specification. As per ASME sec II part D ASTM A106 and ASME SA 106 can be used up to 550 degrees Celsius A106 with a tensile strength of 11.2 Mpa whereas   ASTM A333 pipe   and ASME SA 333 pipe can be used only up to 375 degrees Celsius. Specific Heat Treatment ASTM A333   Grade 6 and ASME SA 333 Grade 6 are heat treated to achieve normalized condition @ 920 degrees Celsius with controlled microstructure. LTCS pipe have high t...

Steel Materials according to ASTM standard

Dimensions from  carbon steel pipes  are defined in the ASME B31.10M standard, dimensions for stainless steel pipe are defined in the ASME B31.19M standard. The material qualities for these pipes are defined in the  ASTM  standards. These ASTM standards, define the specific manufacturing process of the material and determine the exact chemical composition of pipes, fittings and flanges, through percentages of the permitted quantities of carbon, magnesium, nickel, et cetera, and are indicated by “Grade”. For example, a carbon steel pipe can be identified with Grade A or B, a stainless-steel pipe with Grade TP304 or Grade TP321 et cetera. Below you will find as an example a table with chemical requirements for pipe according to  ASTM A106  Grade A,B,C, and a table with frequent Grades, arranged on pipe and pipe-components, which belong together as a group. As you may be have noted, in the table below, ASTM A105 has no Grade. Sometimes ASTM A105N is describe...
